That’s why we’re excited to introduce Buy X, Get Y — a new feature that allows brands to seamlessly integrate any of their Buy X, Get Y offers directly from Shopify into their affiliate campaigns on Aspire.

How does Buy X, Get Y work? 

Step 1: Create a Buy X, Get Y discount in Shopify. 

To create a Buy X, Get Y discount in Shopify, go to the Discounts tab in your Shopify admin. Click Add discount and select Buy X, Get Y as the discount type. Under Method, choose Discount code and enter or generate a code (NOTE: this isn't the code members will promote — Aspire will generate unique ones later). 

In the Customer buys section, set the minimum quantity or purchase amount required and add the eligible products or collections. 

Under the Customer gets section, choose the discounted items, set the discount type (percentage, amount off, or free), and optionally limit the number of uses per order. 

In the Eligibility section, define who can use the discount, set any usage limits, and choose if it can be combined with other discounts. Finally, set the Active dates, click Save, and copy the numerical ID from the URL after /discounts/ — you’ll need this for Aspire.

Step 2: Create a Promo Code Offer in Aspire.

To create a Promo Code Offer in Aspire, go to Reporting > Sales Tracking, click Add Offer, and select Promo Code Offer. Complete the offer details and payouts sections.

Under Offer Type, choose Connect Existing Buy X, Get Y Offer. Paste the Shopify Discount ID you copied earlier, enter a Promo Code Group Name, select a Naming Strategy, and click Create Offer

Connect the offer to a project or add members via the Sales Tracking dashboard. Codes will follow Shopify’s discount settings and active dates. 

NOTE: Customers must add all qualifying products to their cart and enter the code at checkout, so ensure your affiliate partners communicate this clearly.
